vacuum line question

on a 3.1 LHO theres 3 vacuum lines coming off the top of the throttle body 2 of them go under the intake plenum the other towards the firwall any idea as to what they do the skinny line of the 3 broke in half at the tbi i joined it together with a piece of hose dont want to take the plenum off until i really need to

just had this happen to me. there is a diagram on the core support. One goes to a tee and goes to the MAP sensor and the FPR (this is super important) the other small one goes to the HVAC system to actuate the different vent selections, The bigger one probably goes to the trans

the 1 going to the t looks ok the big 1 going to the trans is ok the 1 that broke is the hvac like u said i use some vacuum hose and rejoined it back together the idle in park and neutral was high so i was like wtf so i was checking things over and found that

im actually looking for a replacement piece with little luck. I might try to do something prettier to replace it, but at the time being im going to keep looking for one, either in the JY or on here

yeah they just seem to get brittle after time hot cold hot cold and its cheapy plastic to begin with i did see some universal plastic line at the parts store

The entire plastic vacuum "spider" should still be available from almost any GM dealer - I think they were around $30-35 a few years ago.

i looked and couldnt find any evidence of it ever bering sold. If you come across it, please let me know. I'd purchase one without delay

yes i would buy 1 also but if its NA ill try to find a nice 1 in the jy

I bought one a few years ago. I think it's still in the box someplace in the garage. If I come across it, I'll post the P/N.
