Addicted to eaton
well, take the t-stat out. Drill a VERY small hole in it. makes bleeding air a TON easier, i drive the car around for 10-15 min letting it get hot. pull it in, turn the cars off, and crack the bleeder valves. let all the steam get out/ air and close them. open the raid, fill it back up, and fill the overflow tank up. Then, do it again till its done!
Addicted to eaton
Also a tip, When the car is hot or warm it should blow out warm air, (duh) lol. I had alot of heating issues from fans messing up, air in the system, to plain out neglecting the water system. When the car is on the half way mark and its blowing at warm air, dont fret. But when the car says half way mark, and the air is cold. Pull over lol.
95 vert
With the car shut off and this tool(Spill free funnel) installed. Filled with coolant/water about halfway. Car on level ground, open both bleeders, one at a time. This tool allows the coolant going in to be on a higher level than the engine/coolant hoses and makes the job so much easier. Been using it for years with fantastic results. http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-22150-Spill-Free-Funnel/dp/B0002SR6WK Should be available at your local parts store. Galaxie500XL
I'm still wondering if he may have a bad water pump. My '95 LQ1 did exactly the same thing, turned out it had a crummy water pump. I replaced it while I had everything apart doing my timing belt. When I put it back together, I no longer had the problem. Apparently, the old pump wasn't moving enough water. Thanks hoping to get to the bottom of it soon; took it to a mechanic today to resolve this and a couple other problems. Funny thing I have another 94 vert this one with the 3.1L today it started bubbling antifreeze in the reservoir without it overheating! So - I have 2 94's n 2 94 coolant/engine issues! I could spit nails! I guess I'm gonna replace the radiator cap and check that before I do a pressure test for blown head gaskets! Well all I can say is when it rains...it pours!
