MonteCarloChick
Hey everyone, about a month or so ago when I'd turn my car on the RPMs would rise until about 2800 and I'd then have to turn the car off for fear of something catastrophic happening. Normally, on a cold start, the RPMs would be at 1200 or so then decline to 900-1000 after a short idle period. No codes came on at all. Now this past week, I received a P1406 code (EGR Valve Pintle Position Circuit). Also at about 45mph I'd feel a surging in the gas pedal occasionally. Now is the code and the symptoms related? How do I fix it? Just clean the EGR and it's passages? Thanks!
AL
I would start with cleaning the egr passages as they are probably clogged... As for the high idle I am not sure that it is related... Do you have a scanner with live data?

MonteCarloChick
I forgot to post back here, but it was the IAC valve that was getting stuck and my EGR and it's passages were a bit dirty but not the actual problem. So thanks
