white4d96
http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic_converters/02product/displaydirectfit.asp?directfit=23498 Was brought to my attention on another forum. Thoughts? They claim it made the car sound and run better, and got better mileage to boot. Expensive yes, but they have them on performancepeddler for $150 abouts. http://performancepeddler.com/SC_output.asp?__VIEWSTATE=dDw2Mjk4MDMwMzk7dDw7bDxpPDE%2BO2k8Mz47PjtsPHQ8O2w8aTwzPjs%2BO2w8dDxwPGw8b25jbGljaztTdHlsZTs%2BO2w8amF2YXNjcmlwdDogcmVkaXJlY3QgKClcOztDVVJTT1I6IHBvaW50ZXI7Pj47Oz47Pj47dDxwPHA8bDxUZXh0Oz47bDwyMDA3Oz4%2BOz47Oz47Pj47PguLmQhV7nxrJMgUmBbZQE52aJUK&Prodtype=Catalytic+Converter-Direct+Fit&ProdMfg=ALL&VYear=1996&VMake=PONTIAC&VModel=GRAND+PRIX&sCtrl=Y If this really fit our cars I just might have to jump on one. AL
Douple Penitration for our cars? Oh! You mean downpipe!!
jeremy
unless the pipe itself is larger (which isn't doesn't state that it is) I don't see how it would be any benefit at all to performance ...
white4d96
Thats what I was thinking too, but it doesnt look to have the crappy stock design, unless of course that's just a file photo. Oh and lulz at Al.
slick
It's just an OEM size pipe. No gains.
Schurkey
The gain isn't in the PIPE, it's in the CONVERTER??? The aftermarket is full of "low restriction" catalytic converters.
birdman
Clearly you've never looked at a stock 3x00 dp...
white4d96
What birdman said. Isn't there a thread where aweb cut his open when he was making his custom one?
1QUICKHATCH
I cut the flange off my stock one and made up a new 2.5" one on my lumina. I am still running stock 2" cat back (and stock cat from a montana van), I picked up 4mph/dropped 6 tenths between the 2.5" down pipe and the cooler weather. stock 3400 van DP: Custom 2.5" DP that I made: big problem is the double wall pipe, looks like 2" on the outside but the inside is more like 1 7/8"
19Cutlass94
The stock DP on my 3100 was 1 3/4" inside dia.
