carkhz316
So, my fuel pump in the Monte MAY be taking a poop on me, with is randomly. stalling on the highway. (still gotta do some tests) I think the ~$300+ price for a new sending unit is outrageous. Call me crazy for asking, but have any of you replaced just the pump itself (since that's what actually fails right? Not the whole damn thing). If you have, do you have a part number for just the pump itself so as to avoid the steep sending unit cost? Or do I have to cave and replace it? Thanks if you have any input
Timm
Sorry that I don't have a p/n for you, but it seems like you should be able to fit quite a variety of pumps in the module and have it still work fine! Hope someone chimes in! I can't see that there would be too much of a difference between the stock pump vs. a pump coming from a bigger engine. (Chevy 350 maybe?) And if all else fails, I have a 97 GTP pump you can have for $35+ ship.
pwmin
you can just replace the pump if that's all that's wrong and don't forget the access panel in the trunk don't have the p/n handy
carkhz316
Unfortunately, the Montes and luminas dont' have the nifty access panel underneath the seat. No matter, as I can do it on the lift at work. If anyone has a suitable part number, let me know!
