scorpion_x9 Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 I'm looking into getting a pipe made to sport my cone air filter and was wonder if the PCV system is of any importance because I don't feel like drilling holes in the metal pipe to accommodate it. I've seen people put like an air filter looking thing where there PCV valve goes, but there's one on the rear valve cover and I was wonder what you'd do with that. There's not much room to put a little filter thing on it. Could you use tape or somethingto block it off? I don't really have a good understanding of the PCV system other than it positivley ventilates the crank case or something. Quote
Mike J. Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 The front side is just where the clean filtered air goes into the engine due to the vacuum which is attached to the pcv valve back side of the engine. So long as you have any type of filter fitting there your golden. You can get a nice looking filter or just a $2 basic one. Quote
per0781 Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 the 3.1L has the PCV on the back. On the 3100, the PCV is on the front valve cover. http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=75937&highlight=#75937 Quote
