99screaminregal
Ok, before I go any further with this and get myself into some shit, how easy is it to replace the PCS and/ or the PWS on a 4t65e? Been getting a bit of a surge from the tranny at around 3-4 gear from 35-40 and 60-65 mph. Found a thread on this problem and followed a few of the things said to help "fix" the issue and no go. Surge went down a little so I think it may be time to replace the solenoids. Who knows, buy the looks of the parts, maybe they just need cleaned out. I just recently got the car and it sat on the lot for 3 mo's. and the dealer got it from an auction so, Lord knows how long it has sat. They didn't change a fluid on the car or do a lot of work for that matter. I plan on changing tranny fluid and filter soon anyway so this may be the opertune time to replace/ clean these solenoids. jman093
From my experience a bad PCS is really noticeable on the 1-2 shift, not moving at the speeds you mention. And surging is an engine condition unless the vehicle is continuously shifting or apply the converter clutch, which neither of those happens with a bad PCS. This doesn't mean you don't also have a bad PCS though. You might scan the car and see if there is code P1811 "Maximum Adaptive, Long Shift" in the PCM. This code will not turn on the check engine light, but again from my own experience, always occurs with a bad PCS.
99screaminregal
It feels like I'm revving the engine after it shifts and shows a 200- 500 rpm bounce. So I'm thinking TCC. I think I will look into the plugs and wires after reading up on location of the solenoids.
