Ok,I understand not w-body related but its a general thing, not any model/year kinda thing.

my 1995 silverado came with a floor mat and not carpet. my 1997 parts truck is tan so i Do not wanna go that route unless i have to then i will, But i kinda want to keep it in case i decide to get another or something that needs it. LOL

I found some universal car carpet in my dads shop and he said i could have it no problem. Come summer time i am going to go to pick n pull and Buy a good used carpet. But its too cold right now and the pickins are thin lol.

So im going to pull the mat out of my truck, and Bring it into my basement where its about 70. and attach the carpet to the matt. (remember the carpet is very thin)

How would you guy's go about attaching the carpet to the rubber mat, i understand clean the matt up, and that kinda thing. But im worried about if i used a glue in a bottle that it will show threw the carpet.

The only reason i want to do this is, it looks a little better, and it will also keep my feet a little warmer then the cold rubber.

I would likely use a 3m spray adhesive (I've used 3m super 77 in the past, but that was years ago, not sure if it's even made anymore). As long as it's applied correctly, there should be no issues with bleed through. Also- you will need to make sure it's ok with getting wet, as you will inevitably get in the truck with wet feet at some point.

Yeah, I'd use the 3M spray. It shouldn't bleed through because you're supposed to let the spray become tacky before you put the two pieces together.

You can also get an upholstery needle and attach it to your carpet using fishing line, it is invisible so you won;t see it. Go around the edge of the mat with it and then do an X pattern through the middle. No worry about it showing through, letting go, or warping when wet like the spray adhesive may do. I know it is a little more work to do it this way, but it will make for a better job, and is reversible if the need ever arose.
