Door Handles Interchangeable?

Will any of the first gen 2 door exterior handles exchange with my gtp? I picked up one from a cutlass vert today because I broke my pass. side handle. Will it work?

No. You need a handle from a GP.

I think any 1988-97 handle except Lumina will work.

No, CS handles will not interchange.

hmmm...I know Lumina handles are longer, what is the difference between CS and GP handles? And Regal handles?

I looked at Kens convertible interchange information and exterior door handles for CS are 88-97 CS only.

Well that sucks and now I closed the door and can't open it from the inside or out. Any ideas how to get the door opened so I can replace the handle?

CS handles are longer and differently shaped. Regal and GP may be the same, but not sure.

 

You may have to stick something in the door and start pulling on rods to open it like a thief would. Either that or you could try pulling the door trim panel off to get to the rods on the inside, though you may have to pull the seat to get to it. Hopefully someone has easier ideas than either of those!
