Thanks for posting this, im in the market for an engine swap to a 3800 from a 3100 but i might wait awhile and see how this plays out and might just opt for a 3400 and try that. Would a super or turbo be applicable to the engine after that mod you think?

(Primatech web site doesn't work for me...)

First guess: They never got an engine to the point where it actually ran.

ANYTHING that runs can be supercharged. First Guess: This engine would have been exceedingly expensive; the results wouldn't have been all that great (too much displacement for the valve area) and it won't make a bit of difference if you "wait awhile", you'll get nothing since this whole project is from 2005--2006 as is.

Dropping in a 3.4L TDC would be a nice upgrade from a 3.1, but it's going to be a fairly involved engine swap. Best to get an entire donor car, then you get the upgraded transmission, all the wiring, and the chassis upgrades, too.

did you actually read the article? they are using modified LQ1 heads on an old 1960's inline-6 block.

And the LQ1 is NOT a 3400. They are 2 very different engines.
