dohc v6 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I need to mount up a oil cooler system. Do any one know what sandwhich to buy? When looking on ebay they have a few universal ones but I am unsure of the size of the thread. Its been a while. Mark Quote
Mach 5 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I dont know if its the same for you quad cam guys but I used "Trans Dapt part #1350" it has 18mm x 1.5 threads. This adapter has a bimetal thermostat. I used a B+M oil cooler and I believe 8AN lines -Jarek Quote

This adapter has a bimetal thermostat. I used a B+M oil cooler and I believe 8AN lines -Jarek Most likely is as the oil filters are the same IIRC. Thanks for the info!! I need a remote oil cooler on the turbo cutlass and I'm sick of the leaking stock TGP cooler. Quote
Bake82 Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Jarek, Can you also measure the length of the lines along with pictures as to where you have mouted the oil cooler. I am either going with a stock 91-93 LQ1 oil cooler or an aftermarket one. That adapter is sweet! Thanks Kyle Quote
Mach 5 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I didn't measure the lines but I believe you will need up to 8ft I think I used 3ft each I cant remember next time Im under the car hopefully this week I will check. Oh and dont mind the mess everything is wet with coolant from my blown radiator and like every othe hose because of my head gasket issue blowing pressure into the cooling system.. yay!! Quote
Bake82 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Awesome! That looks alot cleaner than the factory set up with the coolant lines. Is the adapter bolted directly to the block or is the factory adapters that are there bolted in place as well? If the aftermarket adapter is directly on the block, how are you doing the oil pressure gauge? Quote
dohc v6 Posted December 7, 2010 Author Report Posted December 7, 2010 I'll post pics of mine when its all mounted up. I just ordered all the fittings, hose, and the cooler Quote
Mach 5 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 it mounts to where the oil filter goes then the filter screws onto the adapter. Quote
Bake82 Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 gotcha. That makes the filter stick our really far!! Thank you both for all pics and info. Mark can you post PN's for what you bought and where?? Quote
