car not charging

okay so my car is not charging. it sits at according to the guage 12.5volts at idle and then 11.5-12 at 2000+rpm, and when the blinkers are on the guage bounces.

im pretty sure the alt is fine. as if i go and loosen and tighten the pos. battery cable, and the aux shock post nut. it will start charging again normally for about 12 hours. the pos. battery cable seems to be a bit corroded, and that shock post has given me problems since day one (not starting, abs, brake. which it is also doing) you think i should just hit the yard and grab all the positive wires, shock post, and battery posts and start there?

I'd say get a voltmeter/ multimeter for starters to confirm wether it's having issues or not instead of looking at just the guage. Secondly, you can go to most major parts stores and they'll usually do a load test on it, most of the time for free.

Also, I wouldn't bother putting used bat. cables on from a JY. Save your $$$ and get new ones.
