help with vaccum leak on 3.4DOHC

Trying to get an idea of what/where it could be.. it's coming from between the firewall and motor - of course, not much room there to poke around. There is a plastic white tube (cruise cntrl???) that is disconnected, I have a feeling that's what it is.. where is it supposed to connect?

I was replacing the breather (plastic) hose that plugs into the air "accordian" hose that plugs into the tbody and I must have yanked that white plastic one out in the process. Doh!

Car runs fine, the hissing has me concerned. I'm guessing the intake plenum has to come off to get a look at what's back there?

I have what appears to be a vac diagram in the engine bay, only it's very faded. Anyone point me to one on the web?

id like to see it if you find one.

i had a vacuum leak that i found while tearing my car apart. it hissed really badly, and wouldnt idle wrth a shit. it was a large rubber tube that ran under my plenum that got a hole/slit/cut in it.

  • 4 weeks later...

it was the PCV valve, came out from below the lower intake, years of heat, exhaust gasses, and gas gasses and such wore it out, it felt like flexpipe

so i got a new one, and i COULDNT move it at all, and it didnt have the tear that the other one had. maybe it wasnt supposed to.....
