white4d96 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 I'm replacing yet another ball joint on my car and while trying to compress the strut to pop the new joint back in I heard a 'pop' coming from the halfshaft. I look and the boot must have gotten stretched, as there was now a dent in it. I had this issue the first time I had the failure but I don't remember how I fixed it. Anyone got any ideas? Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Just a dent in the rubber boot? No tear? If that's the case, you could try to massage it out, but I would think it will pop out just from driving. Quote
Crazy K Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 massage the boot while compressing it. it will usually pop back into shape without issue. Quote
white4d96 Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Posted October 28, 2010 I'll give it a shot. Thanks guys! Quote
