Radnsmash Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Hey folks, long time no talk, my Z34 has been sitting on its deathbed for about 6 months with no luck in sales :\ so now I'm thinking about fixing the damn thing because I'm sick of looking at it. Would it be expensive to drop a 3.8 series 3 into it? would it require alot of work? or should i just stick with a L67/36 swap? Quote
kuntzie Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 A seriies 3 3.8 is easy, change coolant temp sensor and either but adapter plate for tb or put the plastic intake back on, that's about it, Quote
Radnsmash Posted October 26, 2010 Author Report Posted October 26, 2010 Wheres the temp sensor located? somewhere on the rad? and do you have a link to this adapter plate? Quote
kuntzie Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 It's on zzp's website The coolNt temp sensor is right by the thermostat on the lower intake Quote
Andrew Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 you gotta use the the TB of your series 2 since the series 3 is drive by wire, so .. https://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=255&catid=113 Quote

virtuetovice Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Well damn, that would have been interesting to follow. Oh well, did you know the owners or at least what they are gonna do with the car? Quote
Radnsmash Posted November 4, 2010 Author Report Posted November 4, 2010 I know this much: they drove 3 hours from Stamford, CT and the guy is apparently a decent mechanic(he knew what he was getting into) and he will give it to his 16 y.o. nephew. I don't feel as bad because at least its going to be driven again, not scrapped. The car was just too nice to go that way. I have had the SSEi since April and I plan on driving that around as long as I can. Me being a college student I couldn't put all my cash towards the monte because I live on campus, cant have a car, etc. Quote
