1991 regal gs help with possible fuse problem?

Was driving the regal 2 nights ago with the stock radio on, and then all of a sudden it stopped. there was a semi-loud pop. it hasn't worked since.

here is what is wrong:

the clock always reads 8:00

the radio power button turn the radio on- but no sound.

you cannot select the stations.

the steering wheel radio controls cannot turn the radio on.

the lights on the slave cd are gone.

the lights on the passenger climate control are gone.

is this a fuse??? checked some of the more logical ones, but they look good.

is it the stock radio amp?? but why would some of the interior lights not work?

please help.

I would venture a guess that the stock amp is done for. My old 88 had the same thing happen, and the radio would only work sometimes, then finally just died completely and locked up.

As for the lights on the Pass. side climate control...I have no idea

This happened to me too. replace the main unit under the glove box and it should work again.

the climate control lights are just light bulbs so they eventually have to be replaced. you can get new ones from radioshack and solder them on.
