96grandprix Posted October 19, 2010 Report Share Posted October 19, 2010 I picked up a trip computer from the yard and installed it in my 96 GP. It didnt have one originally, but the wire harness was there. All the functions worked except the temp, fuel info, and fuel economy functions. I snagged the temp sensor when i got the computer and installed it in the factory location. It didnt have any stock wires coming out of the harness, so i ran 2 wires from the sensor to the computer harness. That fxed the temp function. Im still displaying 0 mpg, instant and overall, 0 gallons used, 0 on fuel range.The average speed function works. Im thinkin the computor is good, but is missing the serial data wire input (tan wire at the harness to the pcm). The computer does flash low fuel when it gets close to e.
