visitor Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Rusty, not? pics if possible:D Heres some (really bad) pics of my 1993 STE- will try and get better pics this weekend.. (note- some things appear dark.. they are wet, just rinsed all the cobwebs and such out from under there) This is one muffler, little bit of the spare tire well there, etc middle of the car (i believe pass. side) Cat converter Cradle (thats grime, not rust BTW) Pass side front suspension (all parts are original to the best of my knowledge) Looks "ok" to me:) Thoughts? (yes, im sorry pics are awful, will certianly get better asap!) Whats yours like? Quote
GOT2B GM Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 I wish I had pics of my Z34 to post right now Quote
visitor Posted October 8, 2010 Author Report Posted October 8, 2010 mine*snip* Very clean! what year? Quote
RobertISaar Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 man, the underside of the GP is death incarnate.... i may have pics soon, if i decide it's worth the risk to destroy fuel lines to repair a gas tank leak. the MC was..... well, it had VERY nice sections, but the occasional rot patch.... it was confusing. WhatTheFehl Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Ask Chris DiNunzio. Hah. It's about average, not too bad. I don't have any pictures. Quote
mfewtrail Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 I live in the southeast and my cars have been down here all their lives(for the most part - the red car spent some time in the southwest IIRC), so the underside of all of them still looks practically new. Quote
White93z34 Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 I think both my Z34 and TGP were stored most winters, my TGP is slightly more rustfree then the z34 is. But They are both damn clean. And both have been northern cars their whole lives. Most any rust I have can be remedied by southern junkyards. Now my old TGP.... what a rust bucket. Quote
Penglii Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Probably more rust than I want to admit or think about... such is Wisconsin... Quote
Euro Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Found a few of the Lumina from way back. This was 4 years ago, I'm sure it's a total disaster now(if she's still around:( ) Don't show everything, just the back really. They were just quick snaps in the driveway. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 94 convertible. It's dirty, but not rusty. TGP underbody is just beautiful. I'll have to get pics of it. Quote
sloick Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 my 2000 buick isnt so great. its been through only 4 winters too. Quote
alec_b Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 Sorry for the crappy pics, had the car up on the lift to do the balancer (finally) tonight so I snapped a few quick ones of the main places they seem to rust: Quote
RobertISaar Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 i am gonna win this game SO easily... Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 Here's the TGP. It's not as awesome as I remembered because I forgot the fuel tank and suspension parts have some surface rust, probably from when I kept the car in a shed w/dirt floor, but the unibody itself is completely rust-free. I have a few pics with the fuel tank out too, no rust above the fuel tank at all. Somebody's gotta want this thing! Interestingly, they didn't paint the underbody with a color coat at all, while my 89 has a nearly completely painted underbody. Quote
white4d96 Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 How is your car not rusted above the muffler? Mine's completely mauled with surface crust and I can't get it to stay away! Quote
GOT2B GM Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 Its a TX car thats never seen salt Quote
MemphisMan Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 I'll try to get the front side when my camera charges back up. Quote
