white4d96
I've been detecting a ton of false knock particularly while stopped in gear. I was told that it may be caused by a failed lower engine mount, but I can't tell if it is blown or not (it's a greasy mess by the mount, but there's no breaches in the mount itself, and I can't get any play from it if I rock the car back and forth, or rev the engine.) Am I not checking this properly? Also, I tried flipping one of my dogbones today, partly because I want firmer mounts, partly because I was hoping it would isolate my issue. I couldn't get the mount to turn, or to pop out of the housing. Anyone got any tips on how to do this?
Euro
All I've heard for the 2nd Gen guys for flipping the mounts, is to lube it up with a bunch of WD-40 or something. And then flip it.
Euro
And there's a writeup on how to do it somewhere, but I can't find it
white4d96
I tried the lube and flip method, but couldn't get enough grip to spin anything but the bolt. I was going to try and pop the mounts out, then put them in 'flipped,' but can't seem to get it done =/
