BXX Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 I was wondering if anyone here is running or had run the HV3 insert from ZZP? Are the gains worth the 200 bucks?? Quote
White93z34 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 from my understanding no, the gains are questionable and not worth $200 Quote
BXX Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 hmmm. I figured since I need to replace this warped OE plenum before it goes in it might be worth it if the gains are real. take into account that I can tune the pcm as well. I wonder if it's one of those things that needs tuning to get the full potential Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Ok ill Chime in. On a stock motor NO its not worth it. On a motor with RR, Headers, Ported TB, Ported heads etc, ITS VERY worth it! Quote
xtremerevolution Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Its not worth it, and you don't need to replace the plenum. Plugging up the coolant throttle body passages in the LIM will accomplish the same thing, and lower your manifold air temp as well. Quote
BXX Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 So basically its only worth it on a decently modified engine? Quote
AL Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Basically... Still not worth 200 bucks though Quote
xtremerevolution Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 You can get an L67 for $200. That will give you a lot more power than an upper intake insert. Quote
BXX Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 Honestly, I dont wanna mess with a L67. Ive never been a real fan of having a KR inducing heat factory strapped to an engine... They are fun, but not something I really wanna mess with. Plus once again, I didnt see a damn L67 in the yards, however I did see a shitload of nice looking L36s:thumbsup: Quote
Andrew Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 i had one, and i did notice in an increase in the top end. Worth $200? nah. You can find them occasionally on clubgp used for half that. Quote
