Tranny questions for 94 Olds 3.4L

I'm trying to get my Olds convertible on the road; just put in a nice low mileage 3.4L DOHC; but found out that the tranny might be bad. Someone said it has the 4t60e tranny; is this correct? Number 2 will any 4t60e tranny work in this car; bolt up and function properly? If I have to replace it is this tranny a good and reliable one or is there another that would bolt up and function properly and be more reliable? Thanks for all the insight from your experiences; really helps us new guys out!! Appreciate ya!

No. I forget what years interchange but not all will work as the electronics and gear ratios differ from years and models.

What's wrong with yours?

I thought all 3.4 cars got 3.43 gears?

true. all 4T60E equipped 3.4 cars got 3.43FDRs. not sure about the 97 only 4T65E though... i could check, but i'm busy and it doesn't apply in this situation.

I didn't think 3.4 cars ever got the 65e... And it wasn't in the grand prixs until 98 so not sure
