rich_e777
My `94 Cutlass has black valve covers that leak around the bolts from cracks, are these made out of fiberglass? I went to pull apart and got some heavier ones off a new Monte Carlo and thses feel alot more durable than the black ones. Any body ever had this issue before? Or would i have problems once i put the heavy ones on? Thx people.
Night Fury
If they're factory all you need to change is the gaskets.
AL
Its not going to hurt putting the new valve cavers on, just put new gaskets in with them and ou will be set!
Highmilagecutlass
Rich. I had a similar proble, with my black phenolic valve covers, they were over tightened and had hair line cracks around the bolt holes. This problem is common and GM changed over to a cast aluminium valve cover. To eliminate leaks from being over tightened. I hope this helps you. Highmilagecutlass
It seems that way, so I dont mind sharing solutions to the problems that I've had. I am by no means an expert or a master mechanic , just a guy that will not give up on my Cutlass.
