OldsCrazy
It seems on a hot day my 95 Cutlass Convert will shift into 4th ok then once I sit in traffic and then get going again the trans will shift into 4th but then I am stuck in 3rd until I shut the car off and back on. That may work for a mile or 2 then it will pop out again. Once it sets it is ok again but if it heats up a little it will pop out of 4th agian. It never happens in the spring, fall or winter so it must be a heat thing. Any ideas besides a transmission rebuild? Thanks, OldsCrazy

Highmilagecutlass
Hey Old Crazy Do a pan drop and do visual inspection, install a quality trans filter and some DEX VI, I would guess 7 quarts. If you still have problems. replace the radiator or add a trans cooler. Good luck. P.S DONT EVER ADD LUCAS to your transmission, the problem you are having is typical

Highmilagecutlass
I will give that a try, thank you for the help. OldsCrazy It's no problem I also had a similar problem with my transmission in my 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 4t60e Just dont settle for a flush/fluid exchange at a quick lube, you must remove the pan. Good luck:)
