djrobnyc
I'm trying to figure out the OBD for my 1995 Cutlass Supreme. Is it OBD I, located underneath the steering column? I'd like to get a code reader... Any help/recommendations are appreciated.
AL
Its OBD 1.5, meaning it has an OBD2 connector, but OBD1 information... As for scanners, I think a couple people might even be selling one
RobertISaar
Its OBD 1.5, meaning it has an OBD2 connector not necessarily. i've seen 94s with the OBD2 connector, and 95s with the OBD1(and vice-versa), it seems to be somewhat random as to which connector GM put in. still a OBD1 computer though. ALDL port would be located near where your right knee would rest. you'll either see a somewhat rectangular 12-pin connector, or a trapezoidal connector with 16-pins. Crazy K
not necessarily. i've seen 94s with the OBD2 connector, and 95s with the OBD1(and vice-versa), it seems to be somewhat random as to which connector GM put in. still a OBD1 computer though. ALDL port would be located near where your right knee would rest. you'll either see a somewhat rectangular 12-pin connector, or a trapezoidal connector with 16-pins. it depends on the model line of cars. All 94-95 W cars got a obd 1 style connector, but other cars like H bodies got the obd 2 style connector in 94-95, even though they were still OBD
Galaxie500XL
My '95 Cutlass Supreme uses the ALDL connector GM used since the early 80's. It's under the steering column. I use an old Actron CP-9110 I bought from eBay for $50.00 to read the car. Got lucky, mine already had the GM cartridge and cable when I bought it.
