Dark Ride
As the title implies I'm wondering what cars got the Series II 3800 and also got a oil pressure gauge, not just a light.
AL
Bonnes always did I think... My GP doesnt tho.
White93z34
yeah my 97 SSE has a oil pressure gauge. pretty sure the 00+ bonnies didn't get it though.
slick
My 2000 Bonneville had an Oil Pressure Gauge. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-2004-2005-PONTIAC-BONNEVILLE-CLUSTER-REPAIR-/370334265198?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5639a46f6e Otherwise, just looking for sensor options? Look at the L36 powered f-body's.
Dark Ride
Yeah, I just need a sensor to fit my 3800 to send the signal to the GP Oil Pressure Gauge.
slick
According to Rockauto, the oil pressure switch for the 2000+ Bonneville also cross references with: BUICKLESABRE CUSTOM(2000 - 2003)BUICKLESABRE LIMITED(2000 - 2003)BUICKPARK AVENUE(1997 - 2003)BUICKPARK AVENUE ULTRA(1997 - 2003)CHEVROLETEXPRESS 1500(2003 - 2009)CHEVROLETEXPRESS 1500 LS2006CHEVROLETEXPRESS 1500 LT2006CHEVROLETEXPRESS 2500(2003 - 2005)CHEVROLETSILVERADO 1500(2004 - 2005)CHEVROLETSILVERADO 1500 CLASSIC LS2007CHEVROLETSILVERADO 1500 CLASSIC WT2007CHEVROLETSILVERADO 1500 LS2006CHEVROLETSILVERADO 1500 WT(2006 - 2009)GMCSAVANA 1500(2003 - 2009)GMCSAVANA 1500 LS2006GMCSAVANA 1500 LT2006GMCSAVANA 2500(2003 - 2005)GMCSIERRA 1500(2004 - 2005)GMCSIERRA 1500 CLASSIC SL2007GMCSIERRA 1500 CLASSIC WT2007GMCSIERRA 1500 SL2006GMCSIERRA 1500 WT(2006 - 2009)PONTIACBONNEVILLE(2000 - 2003)PONTIACBONNEVILLE SE(2004 - 2005)PONTIACBONNEVILLE SLE(2004 - 2005) Now, depending on what year harness you have, maybe you need a switch from an older 3800: BUICKLESABRE1999BUICKLESABRE CUSTOM(1992 - 1998)BUICKLESABRE LIMITED(1992 - 1998)BUICKPARK AVENUE(1991 - 1996)BUICKPARK AVENUE ULTRA(1991 - 1996)BUICKREGAL CUSTOM(1990 - 1996)BUICKREGAL GRAN SPORT(1992 - 1996)BUICKREGAL LIMITED(1990 - 1996)BUICKRIVIERA(1991 - 1999)CADILLACALLANTE(1991 - 1993)CADILLACELDORADO1994CADILLACELDORADO TOURING(1993 - 1994)CADILLACSEVILLE SLS1994CADILLACSEVILLE STS(1993 - 1994)CHEVROLETCAMARO(1995 - 1996)CHEVROLETCAMARO RS1996CHEVROLETLUMINA APV(1992 - 1994)OLDSMOBILE88 ROYALE(1992 - 1995)OLDSMOBILE88 ROYALE LS(1992 - 1995)OLDSMOBILE88 ROYALE LSS1995OLDSMOBILE98 REGENCY(1992 - 1994)OLDSMOBILE98 REGENCY ELITE(1991 - 1996)OLDSMOBILE98 REGENCY TOURING(1991 - 1993)OLDSMOBILEAURORA1995OLDSMOBILECUTLASS CIERA(1991 - 1992)OLDSMOBILECUTLASS CIERA CRUISER S(1991 - 1992)OLDSMOBILECUTLASS CIERA CRUISER SL(1991 - 1992)OLDSMOBILECUTLASS CIERA S(1991 - 1992)OLDSMOBILECUTLASS CIERA SL(1991 - 1992)OLDSMOBILESILHOUETTE(1992 - 1995)OLDSMOBILETORONADO(1991 - 1992)OLDSMOBILETORONADO TROFEO(1991 - 1992)PONTIACBONNEVILLE1999PONTIACBONNEVILLE SE(1992 - 1998)PONTIACBONNEVILLE SSE(1992 - 1998)PONTIACBONNEVILLE SSEI(1992 - 1993)PONTIACFIREBIRD(1995 - 1996)PONTIACTRANS SPORT(1992 - 1995)
slick
And I'm sure you can find a cross reference for a 3800 oil pressure switch from a mid to late 90's vehicle also, that also swaps over from anything and everything GM. So yeah, as I suspected, they are pretty much swappable all over the place.
Dark Ride
Well, the 3800 is out a 99 lumina, so I'm thinking that if I ask for one from a 99 Bonneville I should be set? The 3.1 oil pressure sensor is variable resistance that 0 ohms = o PSI, and 87 ohms = 80 PSI. I would think they should be the same given that they cross-referenced all over the place? Does that sound right?
slick
Probably so, or maybe you have that backwards. If you have one sitting on the shelf, try it out.
Dark Ride
Probably so, or maybe you have that backwards. If you have one sitting on the shelf, try it out. I don't. That's the problem, I'll need to buy one, so I'm hoping to get the right one. If I could see the wiring diagram for the 99 Bonneville or any other on that list I could figure it out. Anyone know where I can find the diagram for the oil pressure sensor?
Dark Ride
I don't. That's the problem, I'll need to buy one, so I'm hoping to get the right one. If I could see the wiring diagram for the 99 Bonneville or any other on that list I could figure it out. Anyone know where I can find the diagram for the oil pressure sensor? So I found a diagram for the wiring and it looks like the 3800s ran significantly higher oil pressure, but use the same theory for the sensor. On the 99 Bonneville 0 PSI = 0 Ohms, but 120 PSI = 90 Ohms. So the sensor itself will work and function, but the actual PSI the guage on the TGP reads will be off to what the engine really has. Maybe I'll swap in a Instrument Cluster for one that doesn't have numbers. So I'm going to try that, just thought I'd post what I found. Dark Ride
Just wanted to post that the Oil Pressure sensor from the 99 Bonneville worked just fine, didn't have to swap pins/wires just replace the sensor. Plug and Play.
