MitchellT Posted July 19, 2010 Report Share Posted July 19, 2010 Hello - I've had my Cutty since it was new in 1994. Finally the A/C won't come on anymore. The A/C shop gave me a huge estimate to fix. First problem was that the secondary radiator fan won't come on when I call for A/C. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Thanks for any ideas. mfewtrail Posted July 19, 2010 Report Share Posted July 19, 2010 There are temperature & other requirements that must be met for the fans to actually turn on. If they're operating fine at higher temperatures with the AC off, they're probably fine. The fans will not come on with the AC requested(switched on) unless the pressure in the system is high enough if I remember correctly. What exactly did the shop say they were wanting to do to "fix" it? Personally, I would get a DIY can of refrigerant with a charge hose attached to it and charge the system and see how long it lasts. If it doesn't last long, you have a pretty large leak somewhere that needs to be taken care of. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
