kuntzie Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 ok so im looking to use a pm3 system as it came in my tgp, but im 3.8 swapping it and also making it obd2. if i was to use a 98 pcm and wire harness, my car obiously wont hae the plugs for the pm3 IIRC (havent looked at car yet) so hwat am i looking at for someone that has been in thier engine bay recenlty Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 I don't think the PM3 and ECM wiring cross paths anywhere except the cluster? I could be wrong, I guess I haven't looked at the ABS wiring specifically before. Quote
White93z34 Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 PMIII is a completely standalone system from the cars ECM. Quote
kuntzie Posted July 15, 2010 Author Report Posted July 15, 2010 yes im aware they dont "cross paths" but if i get rid of my wire harness (3.1 for 3.8) and lets say use a 96 dash for the obd2, then the power connection may not be there. Quote
WhatTheFehl Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Since you're already doing all that work anyway, why not get the ABS unit off of the '96 GP? Or the 3.8 vehicle you're using? Quote
kuntzie Posted July 15, 2010 Author Report Posted July 15, 2010 the pm3 unit = launch under full boost, plus alot more room for a downpipe Quote
stockgp Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 why not remove the wiring from the original dash harness and make the necessary connections for the pmIII to work with the new dash harness? i can get you all the necessary diagrams Quote
