oilcan
how much flexing for frame twisting is normal on the 95 vert. I seem to have more than I think should be, to the point of almost a shimmy felt not all the time but often. seem worse since i install new tires and they were balanced
Night Fury
I have a shimmy/shake in my 04 grand prix after tires and balance, apparently its the motor/trans mounts according to the shop
swift13
the verts are known to flex at times buts its hard to say whether urs is normal or not. mostly they twist by the windshield and dash. they tried to compensate for this by strengthening the unibody frame in certain locations. maybe tell the shop about it and they will re-balance the tires. Galaxie500XL
I also have a '95 convertible...are you talking about shimmy over bumps, or while cruising on smooth pavement? Often, a miss at cruising speed can feel like a good shake...but overall, the structure of my Cutlass convertible seems slightly better than the LeBaron convertible I had previously. The LeBaron was a smooth running car, but absolutely graceless over large bumps like railroad crossings. The Cutlass feels more solid, but you won't mistake it for the rigidity of a closed call. DavidHowell3633
I had the same problem once my Mastercraft tires got some age on them. It seems the sidewalls have lost their rigidity and who knows what else. I switched to a set I had on a 95 CS 4door and the simmy is almost eliminated. Anyway, it isn't noticeable. Before it was awful around 45 to 50.
M U Tiger
On our '94 there is more cowl shake and twisting than I would have expected with the "roll bar" construction that should minimize it. The car is rust free and in very good condition, so I guess the twisting and shaking is normal. I also have a 1990 Cadillac Allante convert. that is much more solid, but it is a two-seater with a shorter wheel base.
