We use orrange (dex cool) right?

and...is there any recomended brand (or beter yet, something I should stay away from?)

I got a low coolant warning on the way to school this morning. A few minutes ago, i check, and i cant see much of any fluid in there. THen, arround the tip of the cap there is this white foamy looking stuff.

My dad (whos my mechanic) said just to add another gallon, into the overflow tank. I was currious why some is missing in the first place..my car doesnt leak ANYTHING. HE said it could actually evap over time, and just now low enough to piss the car off.

Does this all sound ok? I have NO overheating problems, and the car ran perfectly (cept when i took a turn way to fast, and it tried to switch gears and sliped....jumpking the RPMs way high). The temp meter reads always right arround the line right above C.

There is an aftermarket brand that's sold that can be mixed with dexcool. It should say something about dexcool on the front of the bottle. I can't remember what the brand is. But it is also orange in color....probably Dexcool before GM buys it

Some of the older Ws (like mine) use the Green stuff. Yours uses the orange stuff though. As far as Im concerned, anti-freeze is anti-freeze. I usually just use the Advance Autoparts brand.

Prestone makes it, so does about 300 other manufacturers just make sure it says dexcool approved on the front.

You know what is wierd is Ford's new PURPLE coolant that they started using.

i read about this stuff (i'll see if i can come up with a link) thats like $25 a bottle. It was designed for motorcycles and race cars, but it has a boiling point of something like 500 degrees.

everyone i have talked to that runs it loves it and says its worth it

my antifreeze comes form the gas station or pep boys, whichever is closer at the time. it costs about 6.00$ a bottle. it is green and kinda cool looking. would make for a good looking shot of alcohol. it smells really really bad and makes my shoes sticky when i spill it trying to change a radiator fan. when i crawl under the car to get to a support frame bolt, some drips into my mouth. it tastes sweet, kinda good. but then i remember how my mommy told me not to drink it, so i spit it out and drink some Dr. Pepper, which is good. then i call the radio station, 643-KILO, and request Linkin Park's Numb, even tho i have the Meteora CD with it on it laying right beside me. then i call justin and ask for help, he says fine. i hear him coming from 4 blocks away from his 1000w amp and such. he helps, then gos to work, i clean up and go inside. i check here for updates, watch some good downloaded porn, then play DOD for about an hour. then i think about my car, then go to bed.

then i edit this post cuz i realize i made a lot of mistakes that make it make even less esne than it already did.

I have NO clue how to do em. And I have NO clue on how to check.

that lower intake manifold gasket is a bitch. i went to a mechanic to get a pressure test cause i couldn't fine my leak and he found it and showed me where it was. he said would be close to $550 for him to do it, i was like damn fuck that. so me and my brother, an ase auto diesel mechanic, did it one saturday, took the whole day almost nonstop. hardest thing is taking all that stuff off just to get to the gasket and then putting it back on. also there are two gaskets for our motors, one with pushrod guides and one without, and you have no idea which one until you pull everything and visibly see it, i just bought the more expensive one, with guides, and figured i would be happy if i got to go back and swap to get money but it was the right one. rockers and pushrods have to come out, only good thing about this job is a good opportunity to p&p the intake manifolds. also only torque the lower bolts down to like 11 or 12 ftlbs because that gasket is designed to work that way, bold print on the gasket package. valve covers have to come off so may need to replace those gaskets, also thermostat housing, good time to replace the stat, glad i did the seal in it was worn and cracked, also very good time to replace the dist. o-ring seal famous for leaking oil. it's a job alright but necessary and worth it, if you do it or help do it feel free to ask any more questions
