visitor
Have a 1993 grand prix ste, was wanting to lower it a few inches. where is the best place to get a "kit" or what have you to lower it? Any brands i really need to gravitate to (or away from?) Thanks all!
birdman
theres a few options, you can get lowering springs for a gen 1.5 and use the fronts out of the set and if you want to lower the rear you can get a lowering leaf from either flex-a-form or birchmount. or i believe somebody makes a coilover kit, although i could be wrong. Twenty
Yes, there is a coilover kit available from Held. I hope to go with that, as it'll offer more versatility than just lowering springs. Either one though will give you the drop you're looking for.

Andrew
newb, check the sticky. http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/29285-How-to-lower-a-W-Body-(-Gen-1-Gen-1.5-)
jman093
newb, check the sticky. http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/29285-How-to-lower-a-W-Body-(-Gen-1-Gen-1.5-) That sticky is out of date now and the links in it for the building coilovers pages are broken. The only front lowering springs still available are the cheap ebay sets for gen 1.5's and use the front springs like birdman says: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lowering-Springs-Drop-Kit-95-96-97-98-99-Monte-Carlo-/360273232803?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53e1f543a3 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SPRINT-LOWERING-SPRINGS-95-99-CHEVROLET-MONTE-CARLO-/350287509465?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item518ec337d9 Other than that you're buying held coilovers or making your own. For the rear's AFAIK both birchmount and flexaform still sell the drop springs. And again you can buy held coilovers or make your own. There's good threads for making your own coilovers here if you search for them.

Breakdown
I am NOT trying to hyjack this thread. I'm extremely unfamiliar with lowering, but does 2 vs. 4 door really matter on any of these cars? I was under the impression that they were similar if not the same for these types of things. Just curious - that's all. If they are different I'd like to learn how. If not, please disregard my existence.
