can i swap 2006 3500 intakes onto my lg5?

question says it and i need an answer by about noon. i can get them for really cheap. no throttle body or egr, etc, etc. just the intakes and thermostat housing

i seem to remember someone here (i want to say brian p) doing a 3500 swap. not sure whether it was heads and intakes or just intakes. also, not sure if he did the swap on a 3.1 or a 3100.

 

tried searching, but search never works for me since the latest forum upgrade

If you're running the stock LG5 heads, it would be pretty detrimental to just run the LG5 heads with 3500 intakes, even if they did fit on the LG5 heads. I'd at the very least get some 3400 heads on there.

i was actually thinking a bit backwards for my future plans. like 3400 or 3500 heads and keeping my lg5 intakes. of course i'd be sending out my lg5 intakes to be extrude honed or for a serious p&p job

60DegreeV6 would be a better place to ask this. BrianP. has a 3400 in his car with a 3500 upper intake IIRC. The Gen II(original) intakes can't be used on the later model heads as far as I remember. Jeff M. had his original LG5 intakes on a car with later heads, but he had to get them customly chopped up/rewelded or something like that to make it work.

hmm. well i can pick up 3500 heads and intakes for 200 b ucks.

the LX9 intakes wont fit your LG5 heads. You would need LG8/LA1 largeport heads to fit the LX9 intakes to.

 

And seeming the average price of a LX9 is $300, selling those intakes for profit might not happen. Maybe in a few areas where people cant get the engines cheap they may pay a premium for them. Wish ya luck.

wow. i can't pick up a 3500 around here for less than 650. and that's with a chopped wiring harness and no accessories
