jtwmechanic
most jy engines sit for ever. would be better to prime any engine using a drill or something to turn the oil pump before you put the stress of starting it upon the crank and rods. there are other methods for engines without the oil pump drive shaft being accessable. this is best done before the motor is even put in the car!!!!!!!!!!!! and 9 out of 10 will be bad no matter what you do. so try try again and better luck whith the next one. RobertISaar
And i just pull the ecm fuse out to prime the motor this is the best easy method. there's a kent-moore tool to prime an engine, but it's literally a bicycle pump and an oil container and i believe it plugs in at the OPSU, but it's a retarded price for what it is. Euro
Ah shitty bad luck with that motor! That would've been a nice one to swap in. I hope you find another one!
93cutty
I scored a 2004 L36 from a totalled monte for 300 bucks. Car and motor only have 31k miles. I'll pick it up tomorrow as it was still in the car and should have it in mine in a couple days.
93cutty
Allright I'm getting pissed off. This new motor is not getting any oil pressure either and Im starting to wonder if its something I didnt hook up. I cant find any reason that it isnt oiling. It fired right up but no oil in lifters or oil filter. This motor only has 31k and has only been sitting a year. I'm about to scrap this piece. Crazy K
so... DO YOU HAVE OIL IN THE ENGINE? DID YOU DO ANYTHING TO THE OIL FILTER? are You using an oil adapter?
93cutty
Yes it has new oil. The only thing I had to change is the filter adapter since they are all different and the factory one wouldnt clear my frame. I'm wondering if I didnt put something back together right but the only thing there is a spring and a round cap that pushes in.
