Addicted to eaton
You can use some kinda orange stripper. Its really up to you. If you can not get it on the tires then your ok. I would take them off. And i'm going to bed LOTS of Sanding!
91LuminaEuro
My friend re-did the wheels on their Reatta, he just used aircraft stripper, and then polished the living hell out of them. They looked great though.
RobertISaar
yeah, it's gonna take LOTS of time and sanding to get them to the status of polished.... IDK how rough of a casting they are though.
mra32
i imagine its more sanding than you wanna do...i almost wanted to quit on my x-laces and thats just the lip and it was already machined to a fairly smooth surface to begin with. I think Hairdo12 polished his lumina wheels, again, those are machined already and its a pretty flat surface he might have used a palm sander or something Edited June 27, 2010 by mra32
jeremy
I tried this exact thing a few years ago....I gave up after 5-6 hours on the first wheel and not having it anywhere close to where i needed it to be to look good.....

mra32
i think i saw some chrome olds 5 spokes on an olds 88. You may want to try looking for those. Not sure if they will fit all the way

pwmin
I repolished the 5-spokes on my 96 GP because I ground them down to remove the lettering. I agree it's a huge PIA. I probably would do it, but I'd have another set of wheels to throw on while I was doing it. I like those wheels and love polished wheels. I hate chrome. mra32
stay stock if you want cheap...i like those wheels. I think out of the w-bodies, those wheels are most fitting for what they came on
Crazy K
I've seen the chrome 5 spokes. they were really rare with maybe 1000 sets produced... and they leak air like hell. polished 5 spokes would be nice if you could give the effort to make em so.
