bronze93
I need a new exhaust from the header all the way back. Where's a cheap place to buy a replacement from?
jtwmechanic
intense racing, w-body store both carry bolt on exhaust i think? there is a local shop near me that will do what you are looking for, something like new downpipe into dual out the back like factory but larger diameter pipe using your cat and quiet stock like mufflers for around 175.00.that is not including a high flow cat or performance mufflers, those are higher end products and will cost more.i have an appointment for next week to have my 96 L67 CUTTY done. he is going to make a 3" downpipe, eliminate my cat because there are no state emmissions here, continue with 3" pipe to the rear split it to duals at the monoleaf and use borla mufflers, one on each side with twin tips.my exhaust out the door with mufflers will be about 300.00.i am thinking about adding an electric cutout too. bet if you look around your area you can find a similar deal. i am using borla because i don't want that fart can sound like a ricer. Euro
Intense or W-body Store doesn't carry exhaust for 1st Gens. Autozone might? Otherwise get one made at a muffler shop would be my guess.
Andrew
custom at an exhaust shop is your only route. make sure they use a mandrel bender!

jake91
OVERKILLENGINEERINGMOTORSPORTS. sells a dp back for like 300 minus cat res muffs  i would rcomend running a 16in to 18in glaspack as a res and magnaflow 12226 mufflers
Mysteriphys
just a note, fuel injected engines need back-pressure to function properly, so if you're just looking to do a stocker swap, you might think of looking around your local j/y for an exhaust in better shape than yours. try not to go bigger than 2" on anything past the cat(s). Â Â Mine was all fine except the extension pipe for the LH muffler. It was bent in the wrong spot, forcing me to use a 3" extension adapter. The only other thing I don't like is the angle and design of the LH pipe... way off.

jtwmechanic
that sounds really good too. wonder what the borla mufflers will sound like.
WhatTheFehl
I'm not sure, but mine is probably one of the cheapest exhaust mods you can do. Cherry Bomb glasspacks are the same or cheaper than stockers. The only problem is that they need welded, which I had done when my car went for inspection. Other than that my exhaust is completely stock. I still have the stock cat, pipe, etc.
jtwmechanic
just got done listening to sound clips on you tube. i am going with borla!!!! costs more, but the end result will be worth it.
bronze93
Alright I have to admit I cheaped out and replaced from the exhaust header back from Rock Auto. Everything fits good but I ordered the wrong manifold gasket so I sit and wait for it to come in. What is the manifold gasket made out of, metal? And how do you get the old one off? Really appreciate all the help you guys are giving me and can't wait until I can get the GTP on the road. Â Mike
