gmrulz4u Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I know it doesn't have our cars listed, but it makes it seem like it will work on any vacuum controlled tranny, like the 4T60(440-T4). http://bmracing.com/products/kits_shftplus/kits_plus.html They also have this one for electronic trannies ie. 4T60-E http://bmracing.com/products/kits_shftplus/kits_plusImprover.html ?? Chinski Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 It has 90-96 Luminas listed...so it seems like it would work. Quote
Justin Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 that's just a fancy adjustable modulator by the looks of it Quote
gmrulz4u Posted October 25, 2002 Author Report Posted October 25, 2002 No...This is a modulator.... http://bmracing.com/products/trans_prod/vacuumMod.html Quote
Brian P Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Yeah I have that modulator that gmrulez shows. I love it. With 170k on the original trans, I set the modulator so it shifts like friggin new Quote
Justin Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 All it does is adjust the amount of vacuum that is applied to the modulator, making it seem like you are at WOT even if you're not. An adjustable modulator does the same thing. Quote
gpse3200 Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 Buy the adjustable Modulator at Autozone for like $20 Quote
jeffz34 Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 Yeah, I just got a new modulator from autozone, 10 bux. It is adjustable but the instuctions say dont go past four turns. I turned it five times and its fine. But how far can u adjust it without breaking the damn thing. Quote
89BuickRegalGS Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 My car shifts pretty damn hard between 1st and 2nd unless I keep my foot buried and the revs hi. If i am only accelerating normal, and i am going at it maybe mid throttle, it hits pretty hard. Would the adjustable thing help stop that? Quote
CortxVortx Posted November 1, 2002 Report Posted November 1, 2002 Bah! I can't find anything in my Hayne's manual about vacuum modulator (or any modulator) for the transmission. Where is it, and is it difficult to switch out? Any web page or any place where I can get a visual? I'm going to get the fluid/filter changed sometime soon, and I'd like to check into this. Quote
