LukeZ34
Decided to drop the pan and change the filter and the fluid today. Everything came out fine, now I can't get the new seal in place for the filter. Anyone got any tips or tricks to get the SOB in there? It's putting up a hell of a fight (and pissing me off in the process).
jtwmechanic
i'm sure it did but did the old one all come out? man those things can be a sob, very tight fit. i tap them gently into place with a deep well socket that is the same dia. as the seal and a soft blow malet. i'm sure that there are multiple ways to do this as the forum replies. LukeZ34
The old one came out.. A seal puller made that job easy. I did pretty much what you said with the socket and a rubber mallet. Lube up the outside of the seal and the inside of the hole with some ATF and it went in much easier finally. Thanks!
slick
I used a rubber mallet when I did the one in the Regal a few week ago. Fuck doing it by hand.
