BXX Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Im curious, not that I wanna L67 swap a car or anything, but I understand why to use a 3800 Monte Carlo/Lumina harness, but why now use a 96 Regal harness??? Quote
RobertISaar Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 it's OBD2, has the C100 connector and came from a 3800? makes sense to me. Quote
RobertISaar Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 wait.... tranny difference? 60E compared to 65E. Quote
BXX Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 harder to find? I find more 96 3800 Regals than I do Lumi/MC.. Quote
BXX Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 wait.... tranny difference? 60E compared to 65E. Hmm, you may be correct.. Quote
jtwmechanic Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 i used the 99 mc 3800 harness because it kept all me stuff in the factory location, only had to modify a few sensor plugs and laid out perfectly with the 96 cutty uses the same bulk head, same fuse box, but needs to be rewired mostly between the c100 and fuse box. i have done a lot of recent research to what is the best harness to use and Brian Teel of motorswap.org recomended it. he has modified an insane amount of harnesses for almost any application you can think of. harness choice mostly depends on what tranny and what year vehicle you plan on doing your swap in. i wouldn't swap in an L67 without the hd65 trans unless you beef up your 60 alot. jimmyfloyd Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Yeah, i believe the GP and the Cutlass use the same firewall connector and the Lumina/MC in 98/99. I believe if you are doing a regal, you want to use a 96 regal harness for this same reason as well, that they connector will be the same for the earlier regals. Quote
xtremerevolution Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 I wonder where this is going... Quote
Crazy K Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 wait.... tranny difference? 60E compared to 65E. that's the reason. Quote
BXX Posted June 1, 2010 Author Report Posted June 1, 2010 Thanks ken, I forgot about the trans difference.. Quote
