f40 swap

hey all. been a while since i was active here.

 

i haven't touched my tgp in a year or so (not even started it:o), and i'm finally getting ready to get her finished.

 

i'm just curious if anyone ever finished the f40 swap. i already have te 282 swapped in, so there wouldn't be a ton more work to swap in the f40 for the extra fuel mileage.

 

before anyone says it, yes i know to use the search feature. every time i type in f40 or 6 speed swap, i get sorry no results.

 

so, any info is appreciated.

gpchris has done it in a first gen GP. It's a lot more work than a 282/284 swap. He had to cut and notch the frame to get it to fit, and I think he had to get some custom axles. Somebody on GPONA has also done it to a 2nd gen GP.
