went to change ignition coils, wires, and spark plugs today because i have been having a sputtering and a misfire through the intake, one of the plugs in the back is stuck because part of the boot from the old wires melted around it, is this fixable or am i completely screwed?

3.4 DOHC 1993 Cutlass supreme, the socket wont fit over it, is there a way to take the engine apart to expose the plug so i can get a better angle?

No, just get a screwdriver or an awl or something and scrape that rubber out of there. It's no big deal, really.

Also, make sure you get all the crap out of the spark plug hole before you pull the plug. Shoot it with the airhose, or even a can of compressed air to clean a keyboard would work. You just don't want any shit falling into that hole.

When I did my spark plugs I removed the dog bone and tilted the engine towards the front of the car. That might help you get a better angle.

x2. I forgot to mention that.

I like the idea of getting a long screwdriver and just going to town. My advice though would be to heat that screwdriver up with a torch till it is red hot and it should just burn right through the boot.

While we're talking about sticking things down inside the spark plug holes, what do you all use to wipe leaked oil out from down by the threads? My #2 had oil all over the plug the other day.
