alec_b
'91 regal limited full digital cluster (not base) and '91 regal gs full gauges. Just want to see what all it will take wiring wise to swap. I know I need the buttons below the radio for switching display modes. Thanks! *GOT PINOUTS* I've gotten it broken down like this, I need to know what to do about the extra wires... ideas? ANALOG C1 – Cluster Fuse 10A Run Hot (PNK/BLK) C2 – Left Turn Ind. Got the cluster, lens/trim, and control switches for $30. Wired the cluster to 12v when I got home and it powers up and works great. I shouldn't have any trouble getting it wired. It is from a column shift car, so it has the PRNDL indicator on it, and I plan on swapping out the trans. range switch and wiring it up to work properly. I was curious as to if anyone was interested in a writeup? I could do one if someone wanted, otherwise I'll just take before and after pictures. I know the 1st gen regals don't have much of a following, but I wanted to offer. Edited April 23, 2010 by alec_b
alec_b
Well I've done some more looking: It appears as though the trans. range switch is different between the analog and digital clusters, the digital one has more outputs for the A, B, and B and parity inputs of the cluster. However, since I'm going to use a GS cluster w/o PRNDL indicator I don't think those are required. The E/M button pod is wired up already, so that I can use. Serial data can be tapped at the DLC. Lights inputs can be tapped at the switch. There's a couple more fuse inputs on the digi cluster I'll have to add. If anyone has any other ideas let me know. I did find the post about swapping in a regal UB3, but it didn't really give me anything new.
White93z34
I did it one a 88' Limited with a base digital cluster, do you have the analog one? I kinda just went by feel the whole way using a cutlass UB3 pinout as a rough guide.
alec_b
Yea I have the full analog cluster with all gauges, so I have all the required inputs already for UB3 cluster, as far as I can see, other than the trans. range inputs. But like I said I think I can do without those.
