Breakdown
Gang, I'm at a crossroads. It's gonna cost $$'s to get new tires put on AMY at this point, I have the tires, but they're not on rims. Or alternatively more $$ on spacers to make torque stars fit. I want AMY on the road ASAP. Please advise. Amy with the current Bronze x-laces, or high-polish torque-stars. I'm going to try 'n doctor some torque stars on to the car, but in the meantime here's AMY with the bronze x-laces. The colour is growing on me, and I'm not sure that I want the torque stars on there any more.
tornado_735
Crosslaces, hands down.
CSI_MuNkY
I love the way our cars look at twilight! I say keep the cross laces, but if I were in your shoes I would mask off the lace part and take the coating off the lip. Jamie
CSI_MuNkY
Oh, and if you have to buy tires anyway, go with 245/50 or 245/45! Jamie

CSI_MuNkY
I wouldn't suggest it, your rims are an inch and a half narrower than cross laces, IIRC the recommended rim for 245's is 7.5"-8.5" Jamie
Breakdown
Hijack: Could I squeeze 245's on my 5 spokes? You could, I really wouldn't recommend it, those aren't the widest rims. Trade them to me. And, yes. There's 2 brand new and 4 extremely low-wear-to-new tires in my garage that are P225R16/60's in my garage (car hole), I just can't justify spending money on cool tires when I have perfectly good ones in the garage. CSI_MuNkY
Have you considered selling the 225s you have to offset the cost of a full set of 245s? Jamie
Euro
Definily crosslaces. The Gen 2 wheels look like ass on a Gen 1 with the different offset. Especially on a B4U car! haha

jeremy
toss the 077s on there
WhatTheFehl
As much as I dislike crosslaces, I have to say they look better on your car than polished T stars would.
Artemis
Crosslaces for sure, polish the lip though like Jamie said.
9lumina6
Just kinda tossing this idea out there..........What about if you found 4 of the 18x8'' front GXP rims. I'm just extremely againsed x-laces, and think that car would look 10x better w/ some sort of polished/chrome rims on there.
digitaloutsider
The torque stars would look like dog shit on a B4U car, or any first gen for that matter.
Breakdown
Definily crosslaces. The Gen 2 wheels look like ass on a Gen 1 with the different offset. Especially on a B4U car! haha If I invest in the spacer adapters (not Aweb's his are cheap in terms of cost and the function that they perform, they do what they are meant to but won't fix this problem). This is what I would be buying: So, that being said the torque stars would have the perfect offset. Also: -AMY is commuting so no 077's on her. Not for the entire summer at least. -Despite the comments about polishing the lips on AMY's bronze x-laces, not happening. Not an issue of time and effort, I like them the way that they are, and I'm being honest, if I had a choice of ones that were already done or mine, I would take mine. -I've seen the torque stars on AMY - without the proper offset, they look sexy!! -Licking an electrical outlet will NOT turn you into a Mighty Morphing Power Ranger. AL
I dont think it looks bad at all!
GP1138
They would look OK but they're waaayyy too tucked and they don't look substantial on a car that bulky and flashy. The Gen 2 GP's are a little bit smoother bodywise and the torque stars compliment them. I love crosslaces but the lip on those being gold is just too much for me. With a polished lip and a more light color gold, it'd look perfect, but as is I've never liked those rims on that car. Silver xlaces would look gorgeous on it, especially hi-po ones, if that was even possible.

Silver xlaces would look gorgeous on it, especially hi-po ones, if that was even possible. A couple of comments and questions John. Again, Al used spacer rings, it's my (educated) opinion that those aren't sufficient to get the wheels so that they are safe, forget about good looking. With torque stars and bolt-on spacer adapters I fully expect that my torque stars would come out at least as far as the x-laces or at minimum as far as 5-spokes. When you say that "I've never liked those rims on that car," you mean my car specifically, or fellow B4U's in that colour and matching them with gold rims, rather than silver. Until I sell those rims, the bronze is there to stay, in my opinion - I realize that many might not share it, they're extremely unique and while originally I they were purchased to get leaky rims off of the car, they've grown on me tremendously. Something to consider when looking at Al's pic, when commenting on the smooth lines of the Gen2' is that Amy's overall shaping and cladding as a 94-96 B4U are distinctly more round (especially up front) than the 91-93 B4U as seen on Al's black GP. Euro
Even with spacers, I still think just stick with crosslaces. Seeing a 6.5" wheel on such a wide car would still look pretty goofy haha.

tornado_735
That's it breakdown. Give me your x-laces, and go with the torque stars.
slick
Since your car is red, paint them red RPE style with a polished lip!!
Breakdown
Since your car is red, paint them red RPE style with a polished lip!! My original plan was to have polished lips . . . . black out the middles . . . . (sounds pretty standard fair thus far) and then mask the outside layer(the polished portion of the RPE's) and spraycan the insides red. Really don't know if that's happening. I also really don't know how much longer AMY will be with me to be 100% honest.
