Q-Ball
The UIM is not as bad as the LIM. I'd do both while your at it.
Andrew
your leak above the pump is the coolant elbow. the other side is likely the upper intake being degraded by the stove pipe like in the article you linked. Im not aware of GM replacing that for free, so you are on your own. Its easy. Search for it, there are plenty of how to threads on that. Q-Ball
Theres 2 coolant elbows. I didnt replace mine cause I never broke it. Should it be replaced? It looks fine, but I dont want to take any chances. I have some water under there, but I cleaned my engine recently. It's clear and doesnt smell like coolant. I usually get too worried over things like this.
Andrew
if they are original i would replace them. when they break they can be a PITA to get the ends out. then again, if it aint broke.....
Q-Ball
I'm wondering if its not in all the way. I compared it to my other 01 Regal GS and it looks like it might not be in all the way. My coolant has been running great since the fush and its been almost 3 weeks now. I did try pushing it in more, but it doesnt budge. Really, if it wasnt in place, I'm sure it would of snapped when I pushed the thing back in when I did the LIM.
Biohazed
haha the GM coolant sealant ... lol I remember when I was working at the Toyota Dealership and used the GM Sealing biscuits to try to slow down my LIM leak and well they didn't do anything of use
xtremerevolution
Check the Links and Deals section in this forum. I posted a link there from bonnevilleforum.com, where someone is selling a LIM gasket kit to fix your problem, for $35 shipped. Pretty good deal IMO. http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/45983-L36-LIM-Gasket-Kit-GM-Aluminum...?p=904949#post904949 Edited April 11, 2010 by xtremerevolution

In my gtp it seemed fine. I was driving back from st.joe when it decided to go bye bye. Going 70mph down the road means. all the steam that you would see just sitting. you dont see at all. Now, Our cars read the temp Right after that. So what that means is, When it breaks, you will not have any water going by it, So your temp does not change. So 10 miles later looks like your car is nice and cool and. Bam it starts knocking..
