gmrulz4u
I had an AutoMeter Vacuum gauge installed this summer and have noticed that this past week, my engine vacuum when COLD, is about 3" hg LESS than it is when HOT. It's mostly noticable in the morning when it's only about 45 degrees F'(7 Celcius) in the mornings when I go to work. Normally I get 18-19" hg at idle but when I first start the car on one of these cooler mornings, I'm only seeing 15" hg!? I was wondering if this is normal? I was thinking I may have a small intake gasket leak that gets better(swells/closes-up) when it gets HOT? I was also thinking it may just be completely normal because oil hasn't had a chance to start flowing completely or something?? I just don't want to find my engine vacuum dropping even MORE when it REALLY gets COLD!! Like 30 below 0! Anyone? THANKS!
Robby1870
I know when doing a vacuum check, you are only supposed to check it when the motor is warm. So, I would say that is normal........cant tell ya why though Robby
H.P.Productions
thats normal... just like your engine performs better when its warm than when its cold cause a warm engine breathes better than a cold one..( I dont know why tho)
