2regals
My 3800 Regal has an issue with what seems to be a misfire when its cruising between 50 and 55 mph in overdrive, If I gently accelerate, it will stubble, but if I accelerate harder to make it downshift, it does just fine. If I try to gently accelerate from say 65 to 70, it does just fine. Also when coming to a stop, it seen to downshift roughly when I get to around 17mph, what could be causing these problems? DavidHowell3633
My experience: Poor quality gasoline can cause stumbling. Also, corossion at the spark plug wire connections. Also, Poor electrical conductivity thru the charging system. Of course- you've checked the air fliter. In your case- check your vacuum lines too. BXX
Sounds like a trans shudder issue, which can feel just like a misfire/stumble. Check your fluid level and condition. Could also be a partially clogged trans filter which can explain the rough downshift
