Loose Oil Pipe at Accumulator Cover

In the 4T60E Trans, is the oil pipe between the case and the Accumulator cover (the pipe with the hose section in the middle) supposed to be a snug fit on both ends? If so, how do you correct this? Just noticed it when doing a trans oil/filter/pan gasket change. Car is a 96 Regal GS 3800

Thanks!

It should fit in there without being able to wiggle around. It's going to be "loose" as in you can pull it right out and spin it around without much effort. That's normal. If it was leaking pressure here you'd have very sloppy shifts and burnt clutches. You'd probably notice it if there was a problem.

I had one that was excessively loose, so i scratched the last inch of it where it goes into the case with a file to form some scratches and ridges and slid it back in place and stuck.... no problems....
