douellette Posted March 15, 2010 Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 i have a set of front corner markers. and im trying to separate the lense from the housing. do i have to resort to using heat? or is there some sort of chemical i could use that wouldnt affect the lense? xtremerevolution Posted March 15, 2010 Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 Most suggestions I've seen is to put the part in an oven on low heat for a short period of time, which will allow it to heat up enough to allow the plastic to separate from the sealant. douellette Posted March 15, 2010 Author Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 well one side of the lense had barely any sealant so i just used a knife and got that part separated. for the rest of it, i used a hair dryer and got it as "hot" as it could get and just worked around with a knife and eventually it came apart.
