trying to remove lense from housing, help

i have a set of front corner markers. and im trying to separate the lense from the housing.

 

do i have to resort to using heat? or is there some sort of chemical i could use that wouldnt affect the lense?

In your other post you said you got it off. How did you do it?

 

I just finished separating the lense from the housing.

Most suggestions I've seen is to put the part in an oven on low heat for a short period of time, which will allow it to heat up enough to allow the plastic to separate from the sealant.

well one side of the lense had barely any sealant so i just used a knife and got that part separated. for the rest of it, i used a hair dryer and got it as "hot" as it could get and just worked around with a knife and eventually it came apart.
