96oldsmobubble
I looked under the back of my Cutlass and noticed I am missing a leaf spring support and my trailing arms are shot. I will be getting struts and mounts replaced under warranty and I am wondering: should I replace the trailing arms and pucks before I take it in to have struts and alignment done? Will replacing these items after alignment mess up the alignment in the rear? I don't want to have new parts in there and them screw them up while replacing the struts. Thank you, Tim Edited May 9, 2010 by 96oldsmobubble fixed with much success
CSI_MuNkY
Replace them before the alignment. Why not just replace them at the same time as you do the struts? Jamie
96oldsmobubble
Well I personally am going to replace the arms and pucks, the struts have to be replaced by the place I purchased them and had them installed the first time.Tim
CSI_MuNkY
I would either do your work first, or take them the parts and have them install them when they do the struts. Either way I would play it safe and do it before the alignment. Jamie

96oldsmobubble
:DGot the Cutlass back on the road this weekend. All items replaced: 1. both rear axle bearing/hub assembies 2. Dorman square tube trailing arms 3. both rear calipers (Cardone)- not a direct replacement in my book, crappy hardware! 4. Duralast lateral spring pucks 5. Wagner ceramic rear brake pads 6. Monroe Sensa-track struts and strut mount kits 7. Duralast rear swaybar links 8. Duralast rear swaybar endlink bushings for 11mm bar 9. Duralast sway bar to strut bushings for 11mm bar 10.Chassis saver satin black for gas tank, straps, trailing arm body perches, brake hardware, sway bar and knuckle assembly 12. brush on high temperature caliper paint kit 13. rear caliper boot kit 14. Freshly turned rear drilled brake rotors This took almost 2 months to gather the dough for the parts, utilize this forum for research and get everything up to spec' This car rides excellent in the rear now, no seeing potholes and cringing for dear life! Before I started this project, I replaced the lower passenger engine mount in the front and the oil level sensor. I am seeing the benefits of this also! Thanks for all the help and experience!! I will try to post some pictures
