Andrew
yeah you can go ahead and do it now, then clean the new parts by hand before you install them. Besides, most of the buildup will be around the valves.

rockfangd
honestly if you are going to pull the top end there is no point in seafoaming it. Just clean it when you diasassemble everyhing, Figure on about 4 cans of carb cleaner on the plenum. Remember do not use carb cleaner on the TB

rockfangd
If you are taking off the upper and lower intake then those are all as far down as you really have to go
frank b
The sea foam isn't going to clean all the surfaces of the intake. Either will spraying carb cleaner or whatever into the TB. Mostly just the valves and combustion chambers/pistons. If you try to clean those areas while the intake is off by spraying carb cleaner on them, your going to load up the cylinders and possibly hydro-lock them(liquid doesn't compress) and tear it up. Use the sea foam now, then while the intake is off, clean the TB and the new intake. Don't forget the EGR passages and the PCV. Can you post pics? Maybe one of the intake fresh off the engine to show us all just how dirty they get.
