Rabbi
Next week i will be doing both my inner and outer tie rod ends on each side of my 92 Lumina Z34. The outer's I have done, The inners i have seen done. I Know what needs to be done but I am curious on the inner tierod boot clamp. Once i remove the clamps, what should i replace them with? 1990lumina
I use two zip ties. Seriously. You could also use mechanic's wire and twist it up so it's super tight. Suzuki's come factory like that haha.
Crazy K
I used big hose clamps on my 92 lumina that needed both inner tie rods done. They DO make metal locking rings used for cv shaft rebooting but are the same thing...
Rabbi
yeah i was actually thinking about just using regular old hose clamps, It just seems like they wouldnt hold very long to me. Will the old band clamps just pop off with a screwdriver or do they need to be dremeled off? thanks guys
BXX
I use two zip ties. Seriously. You could also use mechanic's wire and twist it up so it's super tight. Suzuki's come factory like that haha. Big X2 on the zip ties. Nissan used thick mechanic wire for a while too, just it had a tendancy to rust/corrode and become useless broke. Hose clamps are too wide, they wont work very well. You can get the old bandclamp to pop off/break with a flatblade screwdriver. Best to tap it into where the actual crimp is made and then twist. It will pop right apart.
