BXX
not swapping till i build a motor. i just want to see what i can get out of this motor with a large port and the exhaust mods i have done. i'd like to see over 150whp. wiring does intimidate me a bit I'll admit. i'm good with mechanics though obviously. Dude, you gotta move like 2 wires, splice in to another, and run a few wires into the car. If you can wire up a DIC or car stereo then this isnt gonna be hard at all. You wont get shit with the largeport setup if you cant tune. And you injectors stock only support 160hp, so theres no way your gonna get 150whp running stock 17lb/hr injectrors and no tuning. slick
I think that you would be holding yourself back not going OBD 2, especially after a large port swap and your other supporting modifications. That, and if you were to build a motor, you would really want OBD 2 to tune it.
AWeb80
a local friend with a 95 gp did tim large port swap 2 years ago and dyno'd 144whp to my bone stock 125whp pull on the same day. all he swapped was heads and intakes. RobertISaar
Its 17lb/hr. Dunno where 19 came from? Possible when they went to largeport 3100 with higher fuel pressure? http://wiki.60degreev6.com/index.php/Fuel_injector_ratings Not to mention the engine will just run smoother (speed density blows) says you. i have no trouble getting a car to run, idle and drive smoothly with OBD1 SD... Sorry chief, GM says its 17lb/hr I went from OBD1.5 to OBD2, no tuning, nothing but a swap. Car starts quicker, idles better, and runs much smoother. OBD2>OBD1>OBD1.5 X2!! 19Cutlass94
Even on OBD1.5 my car idles nice and starts quick every time. And Adam, Ill be getting my car to a Dyno here pretty soon, within the next month or two. Ill make sure you let you know what it puts down. RobertISaar
Car starts quicker, idles better, and runs much smoother. other than making a tune from a combination of 3100, LQ1 and LH0 BINs, that's all i did... and it takes me all of two minutes to revert back to 1.5 if i wanted... and i just took a look at a A-car 3100 BIN, it's saying 17.5 lb/hr for injector flow rate... so i'm not sure what to think since i tuned the monte for 19 and it seems to like it. AWeb80
How Will this affect my non-obd2 trans?

RobertISaar
How Will this affect my non-obd2 trans? trans has NOTHING to do with OBDanything. the 4t60-e was used from 91-99 with relatively few changes, that covers 1-1.5-2, with the biggest changes being the PWM TCC introduced in ~1993-1994 in the 660s though i believe some of the larger 3800 cars had it right from the start.
